Haeundae Beach is the most popular beach in Korea. Choi Chi-Won of the Silla Kingdom named the beach ‘Haeundae’. Haeundae Beach’s size is “1.5 km long, 30~50m wide, and spans an area of 58,400㎡”(english.visitkorea.or.kr). Weathered shells from the Chuncheon Stream reached this beach and became the sand. This sand is very beautiful. Haeundae Beach has a variety of events to enjoy. People who come to Haeundae Beach can play Korean’s traditional folk game. In addition, various large and small events are held. There are convenient facilities such as Culture Center, Library, hotel and so on. June to August was packed with tourists. However, the winter beach is also beautiful as you will like it. Come to Haeundae Beach and enjoy.


               My experience in Haeundae Beach



    I have been to Haeundae Beach in Busan. When I was 20 years old, I went to Haeundae Beach with my friends. There were so many people. We swam in the water, ate ice cream, and ate fresh sea foods at the waterfront. After eating, we wanted to try to sunbathe; however, there was a lot of trash on the sand. Unavoidably, we cleaned up then we could sunbathe. During sunbathing, I thought that I would not throw garbage at tourist spots because that is irresponsible behavior. After that day, I have not thrown trash away anywhere since then.
